
Wreck Beach is one of Vancouver's landmarks, but how much do you actually know about it?
Carellin Brooks' new guidebook, simply titled Wreck Beach (New Star Books, $19), reveals everything you wanted to know about the nude beach but were afraid to ask.
In true guidebook fashion, Wreck Beach offers helpful advice on how to get there, such as the best route by car, bus, kayak or bike.
It also discusses what's acceptable attire. That's right -- it's a nude beach with a dress code. Sort of. Brooks points out it's common and more or less acceptable to see dressed or half-dressed people beside nude people. However, there are "house" and "condo" areas -- log shelters and such -- where nudity codes are enforced.
